"Superstars of the chamber music world, and from the first notes of the evening it was clear why."
—Washington Post
Since making their debut at the White House for President Jimmy Carter’s Inauguration in 1977, pianist Joseph Kalichstein, violinist Jaime Laredo, and cellist Sharon Robinson have set the standard for piano trio performance. As one of the only longtime ensembles with its original members, the trio balances the careers of its three acclaimed soloists while making annual appearances at the world’s major concert halls, and maintaining an active recording schedule.
The New York-based trio once performed the complete Beethoven trio repertoire for the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and now brings to The Soraya an all-Beethoven program — including Op. 97, the “Archduke” Trio. Performing in our onstage chamber music format, the celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday continues.
